Course Information

Age: 14+ years of age

Structure: 10:00 – 17:00 (5 Full Days)

HKSF KEELBOAT 1 & 2 

INTRODUCTION TO SAILING & KEELBOAT COMPETENT CREW

This five-day course combined both HKSF Keelboat 1 & Keelboat 2.

HKSF KEELBOAT 1 INTRODUCTION TO SAILING

The aim of this course to provide a short introduction to sailing in a keelboat for those who have never sailed before. By the end of the course participants will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board. The emphasis of this course will be largely practical.

HKSF KEELBOAT 2 KEELBOAT COMPETENT CREW

By the end of the course the successful sailor will be largely conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing a keelboat with little input from the instructor in light winds. The course introduces personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to the level required to be a useful member of the crew of a cruising yacht.

HKSF Keelboat 3

HKSF KEELBOAT 3 – DAY SKIPPER

This is a five-day course. By the end of the course,  the successful sailor will have a competent,  safe, practical approach to the sailing of small keelboats during the hours of daylight and will be capable of sailing and making seamanlike decisions in moderate conditions.

COURSE DETAILS

Age: 18+ years of age

Minimum entry requirement: Passed HKSF Keelboat level 2 and minimum of 100 nautical miles over 5 days

Course Rate: Members HK$5,050, Reciprocal Club Members (RHKYC/ABC/Club Lusitano) HK$5,555, Non-members HK$6,000

Structure: 10:00 – 17:00 (5 Full Days)

Additional sailing days with instructor after the training can be booked for $4,300 per boat for a group of maximum 5 people.
