Hebe Haven Yacht Club extends its sincerest condol

Hebe Haven Yacht Club extends its sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Mason Wilkinson, who tragically passed away last month in an accident.Mason joined the Hebe Dragons at the age of 8 and quickly progressed through Green Fleet to a Main Fleet team member. He proudly represented Hebe Haven Yacht Club both in Hong Kong and overseas in Macau and Singapore to name a few and Hong Kong in the Optimist European Championships.Ultimately Mason preferred coaching and he became an outstanding AI passing through all the Hebe instructor courses after which he went to the UK to complete his RYA instructor’s course. He was an extremely popular instructor much loved by all the sailors at Hebe. He was kind, caring and thoughtful but was able to inspire sailors to reach out to achieve their potential. He will be sorely missed.In lieu of flowers, his mother Frances would like to collect donations to make a positive difference in the Sai Kung community. One of the chosen charities is The Development Fund For Youth Sailing (DFFYS).This fund will help children that otherwise would not be able to afford it to reach their full potential. We have had Hebe Dragons compete at an international level with this fund. It will also give children the opportunity to master new skills, nurture independence, connect with nature, foster teamwork, cultivate environmental awareness, and build resilience. DFFYS is renowned for its high-quality instruction, safety record, and inclusivity, catering to sailors of all levels. This fund supports aspiring sailors from families who may not have the financial means to participate in this enriching pathway. Frances extends a warm invitation to all who knew Mason to join in a remembrance and celebration of his life. The event will take place on Friday, May 9th, at the Long Room, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Causeway Bay, commencing at 6:30 PM. In addition, the family encourages members of the sailing community to share any photos, videos, or written memories they may have of Mason by sending them to memoriesofmasonw@gmail.com.Please find the donation link QR code in the image below.

Hebe Haven Yacht Club Annual Open Day Round-Up 🌊A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Open Day! It was fantastic to see so many new faces and families enjoying the fun-filled activities. From the impressive fleet training drills around Hebe One to the thrilling Bart Bash Style Race, the day was packed with excitement. And let's not forget the delicious hot dogs and burgers that added to the festive atmosphere! 🍔🌭Special thanks to the Hong Kong Marine Police for their booth promoting sea safety – your support is greatly appreciated! 🚤👮‍♂️We hope everyone had as much fun as we did.
