Learn to Sail

Our 5-day courses offer an excellent opportunity to participate in a qualification program endorsed by the Hong Kong Sailing Federation (HKSF). Students will gain essential knowledge about water safety, weather conditions, boat handling skills, rigging, and sailing terminology, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the sport. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to confidently take a small boat out in light to moderate winds, fully in control of their sailing experience.

We offer this both a 5 day course and after school programme.

Residential Programmes

Adjacent to our club facility, we have the HK Scouts centre, which features dormitory-style rooms accommodating both male and female students, conveniently located next to our venue. Students can enjoy meals at our club for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Evening activities often include excursions to popular Sai Kung and Hong Kong tourist attractions, making these weeks even more enjoyable.

Participants can engage in a 5-day sailing program designed for beginner to advanced sailors, culminating in qualification courses endorsed by the Hong Kong Sailing Federation. These training courses can be conducted on both dinghy and keelboat sailing boats from our club’s fleet.

Watersports Weeks

Hebe Haven Yacht Club is excited to offer a dynamic multi-water sports activity week, perfect for Challenge Weeks or CAS programs. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of thrilling activities, including kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, and beach fun. This week-long experience is designed to promote teamwork, skill development, and a deep appreciation for water sports in a safe and supportive environment. Whether students are beginners or looking to enhance their existing skills, our experienced instructors will guide them through each activity, ensuring an unforgettable and enriching experience on the water. Join us for a week filled with adventure, camaraderie, and the joy of outdoor exploration!

HK Award for Young People

We are excited to announce a new opportunity at Hebe Haven Yacht Club: the Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP), previously known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Established in Hong Kong in 1961, AYP is a licensed member of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, promoting principles that foster perseverance and a spirit of self-challenge in young people. This program is now an integral part of our syllabus and sailing scheme, providing an enriching experience for youth as they take to the waters of Sai Kung. Join us to embark on a journey of personal growth and adventure!

Other Student Opportunities

Work Experience

Over the years, Hebe Haven Yacht Club has welcomed numerous students for work experience opportunities with our club’s staff departments, providing them with valuable skills and insights into our working environment. We are eager to accept more students to gain hands-on experience with us at HHYC. Participants will have the chance to learn about various areas, including the Sailing Centre & Event Management, Marine Services, Food & Beverage, and other administrative functions such as PR and Marketing. Join us to enhance your skills and explore the diverse operations of our club!

School Fairs and Taster Days

We are excited to offer the opportunity to bring a small boat to your school, and if you have a swimming pool, we can conduct safety drills before the course begins. Even without a pool, we can still bring a boat and engage students with an informative and enjoyable talk about sailing. We would love to participate in your school fairs by setting up a booth to promote our sport. Additionally, we are happy to donate a sailing course as a prize for a lucky draw at schools we collaborate with.

Community Projects

Hebe Haven Yacht Club is committed to giving back to the community through various initiatives, including organized beach cleanup days. These community projects not only help preserve the natural beauty of our surroundings but also foster a sense of environmental responsibility among participants. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join us in making a positive impact on our local ecosystem while enjoying a day of camaraderie and teamwork. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our beautiful beaches remain clean and vibrant for everyone to enjoy. Join us in our efforts to protect the environment and create a lasting legacy for future generations!
